This in itself is not an unusual occurrence. Rare maybe, because I am kind of tight, but not unusual.
This lead is a little different though, the jack plugs on each end break into two parts and are held in place by magnets. The idea is that if you accidentally kick the lead, you do not trip up or break the cable - the magnets just separate and you can quickly stick it back together.
I have only owned this cable for a couple of hours or so and already I can spot a flaw in the design. I will never play guitar again. Every time I go to plug it in, I will end up playing with the lead - pulling the magnets apart and sticking them back together.
Magnets are fun.
This is more of a test to make sure I have set up the link to my flickr account properly, but this photo is from the same gig as the You Tube video below.
Click it to see a few other pictures from that gig, which were taken by the lovely Paul Tonner
This is a song by Y’all is Fantasy Island, a band I am currently supplying Bass, Guitar and Keyboards for. Not to mention transport… I should really make sure the other members of a band can drive before I get involved. Oh well.
The song is entitled, “With Handclaps” and was recorded at Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh. The rather excellent Frightened Rabbit and rather bizarre Thomas Truax also happened to be playing that night.
The best thing about this video? I am not in it until the very end, once we have stopped playing.
This is a little tune I wrote a year or so ago, trying to emulate the sublime Leo Kottke. I say emulate, but quite frankly I am not worthy of clearing up his shit, let alone pretending I can play like him.
Still, you have to aim high. I am quite happy how the tune turned out and I was even asked by an American rapper based in Germany if he could use it as a basis for a track of his. I have not heard anything about it yet, but I am really quite intrigued to see what he does with it.
I just thought I would make a little bloggy thing to pull together all the many, varied things I tend to do in the world of music.
That is all for now.
Please move along.
