Gig and Tour News
I am sorry to say that from February I will no longer be a host of the North Star Open Mic. For nearly two years, I have spent almost every Monday enjoying great local music talent and some great pizza, with the highlight being our Summer Songwriter’s Showcase in 2015. Don’t worry if you still want to go along to play – the night is going to continue every Monday as usual, but now Adam Donaldson will handle all the hosting duties by himself. You should really go along now and then to keep him company!
So what am I going to be doing on Mondays instead? Well that leads me to announce that from 1st February 2016, I will be appearing weekly at Maggie May in Glasgow from 10pm to midnight. Every Monday I’ll be there playing a mixture of original material and my favourite cover versions, so please come to watch if you happen to be about.
My open mic hosting experience will not be going to waste though, as I will now be taking over on Sundays at The Queen’s Hotel in Bridge of Allan. The evening always has a really friendly, relaxed atmosphere, so if you fancy coming along to play a few songs or just enjoy a drink and some music, I’ll be there every Sunday from 6pm until 9pm, starting on the 17th January 2016.
I am also excited to announce that I will be out on tour with my good friend Adam Stafford once more in March. He will touring to launch his new album ‘Taser Revelations’ which I recorded, and I will be supporting each night. You can get a taste of the album by listening to the single ‘Atheist Money’ – the album itself will be released on March 14th.
The dates so far are as follows:
Friday, March 11th 2016: Summerhall, Edinburgh, The Dissection Room
Thursday, March 17th 2016: Mad Hatters, Inverness
Friday, March 18th: The Old Bridge Inn, Aviemore
Saturday, March 19th: Aberdeen (venue TBC)
Sunday March 20th: Glasgow, The Hug & Pint
Before the tour proper, I will also be appearing on stage with Adam on 27th February 2016 at the Littleway Festival in Brighton. I will post more info on times etc nearer the date.
Those are the highlights, but I have a plethora of other gigs over the next few months. You can always find current bookings on my gigs page, so keep checking there for the latest info, or get in touch if you have any questions.
I’ll sign off for now with a reminder that you can download my latest single, right now, for free, from Bandcamp.
