New Record Imminent
Over the past couple of days, I have been putting the finishing touches to my new album. It has been a long time in the making with much of the music written over the past couple of years. But a combination of commitments made to other recording projects, and my own indecision in how best to approach recording meant I never got round to making it. It’s easy to make decisions when you are producing someone else’s music, but much more difficult to decide what to do with your own.
I finally made the decision to just record it, with whatever equipment I had lying about the house and whatever instruments I could borrow (thanks Paul and David). And now it is done, with the exception of some final adjustments to the mix and having it mastered.
My current plan is to release the album on 5th December. It should be available in all the usual online music retailers, but I will also have a limited run of physical CDs made. I am thinking the CDs will probably only be available at my gigs, but if there is demand then I will sell those online too.
A launch night is being planned for the evening of 5th December at Behind The Wall in Falkirk, where I will be playing alongside my friends End of Neil and Adam Donaldson, who also has a record coming out. More details on that will follow shortly.
So it has been a long journey to get a record made, but it is now so close to being done. I am kind of excited.
